Pha Khao Ma is a work cloth in Thailand before it is anything else. It goes to the fields and it gets washed at the end of the day. That is the life it was woven for, and it is the same life a four year old gives it.

It is woven tight and it is hard to wear out. Washing softens it rather than thinning it, which is why a pair can go from one child to the next.
